Although this award ceremony will be devoid of the publicity, hype, glitz and glamour associated with the famous awards of Bollywood, Preity Zinta will forever remember the proceedings of the day. Because the award for which she has been selected for is given in the memory of one of the finest actors produced by the country.

The actress will receive the Smitha Patil Memorial Award at the Silver Jubilee Global Awards Function on September 19.

In between cheering lustily for her Indian Premier League (IPL) team and comforting the players, Bollywood star Preity Zinta is at the Cannes Film Festival as brand ambassador of Chopard, the maker of luxury watches and jewellery.

Uh, but don’t they already have enough in form of Preity? “I may be the glam quotient but we have enough players who are brands in themselves and need no endorsements. With players like Yuvi, Sree, Irfan and Brett, my work becomes simpler,” Preity says.

Preity, Amrita at a joint birthday party [05,Feb,2008]

Both Bollywood actors share their birthday on Jan 31 and Preity was present at Amrita's theme party.
"Amrita is a really sweet girl and has been inviting me every year for us to celebrate our birthday together," Preity told us.
She added: "This year I said I had to go. Besides, it was a theme party - wigs and hats. And I love hats. I'm a very hat person. So, I went in one of my favourite hats.

Tinsel town may be buzzing with stories of Ness Wadia and Preity Zinta splitting up, but the actress herself laughs off rumours of any problem between her and her industrialist boy friend. 

“Ness and I are together, thank you very much. We are happy. There are no problems between us,” she told us.Earlier, there were reports that the couple, who has been together for three years, had a spat on the sets of Zinta’s new film Heaven On Earth when she was shooting in Toronto.

Is Preity Zinta getting married  [20,Aug,2007]

The latest gossip doing the rounds is that Bollywood actress Preity Zinta is set to tie the knot with Ness Wadia, the great grandson of Muhammad Ali Jinnah, the founder of Pakistan. 

The award winning Indian actress started dating Ness, son of Bombay Dyeing owners Nusli and Maureen Wadia, in February 2005, reports the Daily Times.
